La Isla del Encanto

Puerto Rico (2024)

Growing up as a young child, my parents and I would travel to the island of Puerto Rico, also known as La Isla del Encanto, each summer for many years. Having both been born on the island and later moving to the States, they wanted to make sure that I was able to grow up knowing my family who still live on the island, as well as keep me connected to the culture. With the rise of COVID-19 beginning in 2020, we had to put our visits on hold for a few years, as everything was still so uncertain. In the summer of 2024, however, we decided it was time to travel to the island. As soon as I found out we would be going, I knew I wanted to take one of my film cameras with me to document the beauty of Puerto Rico.
