Portraits in Motion

Atlanta, Georgia (2024)

Photography is known as an art form consisting of the creation of still images. Unlike works that fall under the category of film or cinema, photographs do not move, but rather freeze the moment they are capturing. For this project, i wanted to blur the lines between the two. By capturing a movement from beginning to end using a still camera and then sequencing the individual images together, I sought to create a “moving picture.” These two sequences, along with four still shots, are the result of this experimentation.

Shot using a Canon R5 camera and two Profoto D2 strobe lights with softboxes as modifiers
